If there is something that has come to characterise Cafe Racer Dreams in recent years it is internationalisation. Many of its most recent creations can be found all over the world and it’s not unusual to find the CRD workshop preparing a new gem with a long journey ahead. This was the case of #CRD125, an exclusive creation for a client in Boston, USA, who wanted a very special gift for the entire family. Many of our bikes end up overseas, but it is also common for each of them to have a very personal history behind them.

One of the essential features of this latest Cafe Racer Dreams project was that the colours bronze and brown mark the bike’s aesthetics, and of course, along with top-of-the-line features throughout. With this starting point, CRD worked to find the right colour tone to match the various elements of the bike in bronze and most especially the gas tank. The stylised design of the gas tank includes three stripes in different tones of bronze, representing each member of this American family and with a logo that substitutes the usual blue of the brand with grey to continue the look.

The chocolate-coloured leather seat completes the striking aesthetic combination when seen in real life, with an added touch provided by the Biltwell grips in brown. As with any Cafe Racer Dreams bike, there are some habitual details that give it a special character, such as the customised and handcrafted sub-chassis and plate holder. The bike also includes minimalist controls from Motogadget and mini indicators from Rizoma, bringing all the elements together into an integrated whole. 

The front end is dominated by the 19-inch headlight adapted to this BMW R 100 and combined with classic instruments from Motogadget Motoscope. Another standout is the Kawasaki ZX-6R front forks, with four-piston callipers and brakes by Nissin, all giving great control to the front end when applying the brakes, a huge step up from the original bike. The forks are painted in bronze to match the springs of the Öhlins Blackline series shock absorbers in the rear.

Painstaking attention was paid to the final finish and the smallest details, with fewer visible bolts in the various fittings. Once more, CRD made use of Cerakote ceramic treatment on the rear pump and the trumpet exhaust pipes to give a unique, rough finish. #CRD125 also includes a set of Heidenau K60 tyres, with a small tread than the usual Continental TKC 80. Café Racer Dreams continues to produce new creations, and while this sober and elegant #CRD125 heads off to the United States, we will soon have another new project that will stay in our country.
